The Cybertron Alliance Universe
Copyright note
The Cybertron Alliance Universe (CAU)
is a fan created unofficial continuity of Transformers; all relevant characters
and material is borrowed from the copyright owners, Hasbro and Dreamworks, and
any affiliates. No profit or ownership of the copyrighted material is claimed
nor implied from this creation.
The
original picture of Optimus Prime and Megatron, used in my signature on the
forums and also as part of the site banner, is from "The Cybertron Alliance"
from a Japanese G2 magazine spread, art by Hidetsugu Yoshioka.
Introduction and Overview
Synopsis and tie-in to Generation One (G1)
Long before the human race, other sentient life existed in the universe. Life,
on a planet called Cybertron: a newly created, self contained planet rich in
energy and resources – and human-like, but mechanical, life called the
Transformers. It was a planet of peace and love, of exploration and advancement,
a planet of prosperity.
Long before Generation One. Long before The War Within era. Before recorded
history, of a time long since forgotten. Unity existed. It was The Golden Age of
Cybertron. But as with all good things... it had come to an end.
Out of the shadows, an evil emerged. An evil so mysterious, and so powerful,
that it could not be explained, nor could it be fought. An evil that made all
believe that it did not exist...
What if this evil could hide in plain sight, yet watched from the shadows your
every move? What if this evil was so calculating, and so Deceptive, that it was
beyond anything that had ever been encountered before? What if this evil was
more than met the eye?
And so it began: an obsessive, ongoing war between two factions, a futile war,
which would continue relentlessly throughout the ages, ravaging the planet of
all of its strength, and tearing apart the very foundation of Cybertron’s
existence.
However, the rise of the Decepticon regime was only a façade of its true intent.
But with it, many good Autobots had fallen, had turned evil... or so it had
appeared. Some of the great Cybertronian leaders and warriors managed to resist
capture, and thus were not turned. Yet, others were not so fortunate...
For Optimus Prime, the greatest and wisest leader of all the Autobots, the goal
towards peace and unity once again for Cybertron would not be realized until the
words would hold true once again...
Synopsis after Generation One (G1)
Amongst those that had fallen under the evil’s powerful spell were Megatron,
Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave. For a long time, for what seemed like an
eternity, these Cybertronians were trapped, unable to return to their friends,
yet unable to reach out for help. Wrongly accused, and their true identities
forgotten, they had become, at least in the eyes of others, mere shells of their
former selves; they had become 'Decepticons,' and were no longer the heroic, well loved Transformers that they truly
are.
Then finally, one day, it took the vision and insight of a great leader, to be
able to finally uncover the truth and set them free....
Now, Optimus Prime and Megatron work side by side to defeat the evil powers of
the universe, as allies, as they had meant to do from the beginning...
Notes
The synopsis above represents only a rough outline of
how the Cybertron Alliance Universe can be made to fit into the already existing
Transformers continuities, with a particular focus on Generation One (G1), if it
is required to do so only. The above is by no means, however, a final version of
its concept, but only a probable one. It can be developed and refined further,
as is the intent. The alternative is to allow it's own
complete restart of the Transformers universe, where G1 and all later events did
not occur - that is, recreate the storyline from the beginning.
The "Cybertron Alliance Universe" is only a working title, and may be renamed if
necessary. The name was adopted as homage to, and partly inspired by, the
Cybertron Alliance, which was featured at one stage during the G2 comics.
However, unlike the Cybertron Alliance, the Cybertron Alliance Universe carries
the theme introduced in the former to its fullest extent. Its main focus is upon
the adventures of the main characters, in particular of Optimus Prime, Megatron,
Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave, along with other equally important supporting
characters such as Jazz, Prowl, Bumblebee and Arcee. I have comprised a list of
17 ‘featured’ characters, which would be the main stars of the CAU and as such,
their characteristics and personalities are protected by a set of guidelines,
whilst still allowing them to be portrayed as the heroes and protagonists of their
Universe. I have also developed an additional supporting cast, whose function or
importance would remain secondary, and yet a little more flexible.
For the first time in the history of the Transformers brand, Megatron is allowed
to be a hero. It will challenge the very beliefs and ideas that Transformers
fans have come to accept since its inception. However, given the chance, I
believe that not only does the Cybertron Alliance Universe provide an
understanding and resolution to the ongoing battle of Autobots vs. Decepticons,
as well as providing an insight into the ‘Decepticon’ name, but it also gives
some well loved characters the chance to truly shine, to reveal that part of
themselves that has remained hidden and unknown for far too long. The entire
history of the Transformers war was never really about the acquisition of
energy, power or resources – about one faction endlessly battling another, the
war of good vs. evil seemingly without end. The war was about something much deeper. It
was about the unseen enemy (hence 'MTMTE'), the one that posed the biggest threat, and the one to have caused all the
conflict on Cybertron at the very beginning. It was a War Within, a battle with self as
those evil forces sought to take control. Megatron waged such a war, but was overcome
and his identity made evil. Starscream, one of the most loyal and magnanimous of
all Cybertronians, was made to be the very opposite of what he truly is.
Soundwave, Shockwave, and probably countless other ‘Decepticons’ suffered the
same fate. Red optics on a Transformer will usually indicate the sign of trouble,
something not right within their system. Yet, this was the only real clue left
of them to the world, but for the longest time it was overlooked, and taken for granted.
Then, by some yet to be understood event, and after so long, these Transformers
were restored to their rightful function, and hence the new adventures of
Cybertron’s heroes emerged. Together as one, now nothing can stand in their way, and
never can true evil divide and destroy the friendship and unity that the
Transformers had waited so long to finally regain. No matter what the future may
hold, or what challenges arise, they now face them together, on a united front,
and at long last they can truly bring Cybertron back to the state that it once
was; a planet of love, of peace, of honor and of beauty.
The featured list of characters includes only the protagonists; this allows for
temporary or semi-permanent antagonists for each episode. The Cybertron Alliance
Universe offers a wholesome and powerful format not only for children, but for
adults and enthusiasts alike. Surprising, challenging, inspiring. That is what
the Cybertron Alliance Universe is all about.

CYBERTRON ALLIANCE UNIVERSE FAN FICTION
THE GOLDEN AGE OF CYBERTRON
series
by Crystine of Cybertron
Before Decepticons came into
existence, Cybertron was at peace.
Please note that this series, and all the stories contained therein, are set
during the First Golden Age of Cybertron (hence the series title), and as
a result not all personalities may be written in their usual characterizations.
This is due, in large part, to the fact that the setting is very early on in
their lives, and as yet they have much to learn and experience before their
personalities develop into what they are today.
Synopsis:
The success of a new generation of Transformers lies with the stolen Key to
Vector Sigma, but will the mission to recover the sacred artifact destroy them
all, and bring an end to their only hope? Or will the long awaited 'awakening’
finally become a reality?
Synopsis:
Sentinel finds a new ally against
Commander Shockwave, and overtakes Iacon.
Synopsis:
When Commander Shockwave and his
team visit the isolated Emirate of Xaaron II on a mission to learn more about
some experimental cybernetic prototypes, they discover more than they bargained
for, with possibly disastrous results.

Emir Xar in this story is, intentionally, based upon
“Emirate Xaaron” of canon, and the terms used here to describe both his name,

possible, based upon their respective canon representations. Elita One's story
